Remote sandy crescent of Lara Beach with turquoise water in the Akamas, Cyprus

Akamas Peninsula

Lara Beach

A protected turtle nesting beach with no development and no facilities.

Lara Bay is one of the most important loggerhead and green turtle nesting beaches in the Mediterranean. A conservation station monitors the nests through the summer, and areas of the sand are fenced to protect them.

The beach itself is a wide sandy crescent backed by low cliffs, with nothing built on it at all.
