Almost every boat trip in Paphos leaves from the same quay beside the castle, but the trips themselves are very different in length, pace and price. Here is how to choose.
Blue Lagoon day cruises
The longest and most popular option. Boats sail north along the Akamas coast, anchor in the Blue Lagoon for a swim and snorkel stop, and return in the late afternoon. Expect five to seven hours in total, with most of that time on the water.
Choose this if the swim stop matters more than the sailing time, and take a hat: shade on deck is limited on busy days.
Sunset cruises
Short, calm and timed for golden hour. These sail past the archaeological park and castle before turning out to open water for the sunset. Usually one to two hours, which makes them the easiest option with small children or after a full day elsewhere.
Family and coastal cruises
Half-day trips that stay closer to Paphos, often with a swim stop near Coral Bay or the Sea Caves. Less time at sea, more predictable conditions, and usually the cheapest way to get everyone on a boat.
Private charters
A skippered boat for your group only. The route flexes to the day: sea caves and a quiet swim stop on a short charter, the Blue Lagoon on a longer one. Best for celebrations, photography, or anyone who wants to avoid a fixed timetable.
Practical advice
Sea conditions decide everything. Morning departures are usually calmer, and operators cancel rather than sail in a strong meltemi wind. Book with flexible dates in shoulder season, bring more water than you expect to drink, and arrive at the quay twenty minutes before departure.
